Innovative Approaches to Pediatric Simulation

I’ve been exploring new simulation techniques for teaching pediatric nursing, focusing on how we can create more realistic scenarios that truly engage our students. Recently, I tried using role-playing games to enhance critical thinking in assessment and intervention planning. It was incredible to see student confidence grow when they were able to apply what they learned in class to a dynamic, interactive environment. Has anyone else had success with similar strategies?

I love the idea of using role-playing games! I tried a similar approach with family interactions in a simulated ER, and it really got the students thinking on their feet. It’s amazing how a little creativity can turn learning into something fun — like turning a textbook into a video game! Have you considered integrating real-life scenarios with local healthcare providers?

Using role-playing is a great way to spark discussion! I once used a scenario where students had to act as both the nurse and the child, which helped them see things from multiple perspectives. It’s amazing how stepping into different shoes can boost empathy and critical thinking. @mray99, have you thought about incorporating feedback sessions after these simulations?
