Patient Care During Clinical Skills Labs

One challenge I often face coordinating hands-on practice in skills labs is ensuring that students engage effectively with real patients. I find that integrating technology, like simulation mannequins, helps bridge that gap. How do others enhance their students’ interaction with actual patient care while still managing the clinical supervision aspect?

Totally agree on the tech integration — simulation mannequins can do wonders! One thing I’ve found is incorporating peer-led sessions can ramp up real-time patient interaction significantly. How do you feel about balancing that with oversight, though?

, I get so frustrated with that too! I’ve started using role-playing scenarios before labs to prep students on real patient interactions. It’s not a complete fix, but it really helps them feel more comfortable.
